Beautiful Joe (2000)

When nothing much is happening in your life and you yearn for something more, it is probably not a good idea to go looking for it. You’ll often find much more that you bargained for. Just ask Joe (Billy Connolly), a florist who has been cuckolded. Desperate to escape the confines of his failed marriage and looking for a little adventure after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Joe decides perhaps a road trip is in order to see what he has been missing. In Louisville, Kentucky he hit a jackpot and finds himself spotlighted by Alice Mason (Sharon Stone) who needs a big score to pay off her gambling debts. With a deft hand, she lures Joe into her clutches and he rolls over like a puppy looking for a tummy rub. Waking to no cash, he’s able to persuade those she paid to reimburse him because they mistake Joe for a syndicate boss they know about but have never met.
