About a Boy (2002)

It is always a struggle to find your place in the pantheon of life. You’re not cool enough, geeky enough, smart enough, pretty enough, etc. How do you find your niche? Marcus (Nicholas Hoult) and Will (Hugh Grant) seem to be in the same boat despite their differences in age and circumstances. Both a floating around trying to find where they fit in. But they discover they have each other for an anchor and that things will work out in some fashion for each of them.
