Mrs. Henderson Presents (2005)

Mrs. Henderson Presents

I’ve met a number of dotty ladies of an indeterminate age who seem to glide through life chattering about almost nothing but meaning everything. They are a delight and make one shiver at how perceptive they are at what is going on around them and can manipulate events to suit their own ends. Mrs. Laura Henderson (Judi Dench) decides to take the Lord Chancellor, Lord Cromer (Christopher Guest), out for a walk catching up on the gossip, and leads him to share a pavilion lunch. All the while, she is maneuvering him into agreeing to allow nudity in her shows. Compromise being the British way, they agree on what can and can’t appear on the stage of the Windmill Theatre.
